Reports to and works with the Board of Directors to establish the organization's future direction.
They will serve as the chief administrator, providing leadership and implementing policies and programs to carry out the work of the Downtown Denville (DD) Business Improvement District (BID).
It is a full-time salaried position where interacting with the district and attending whatever meetings/functions that are necessary.
The job functions include but are not limited to:
Daily Operations:
DD BID Operations Management of services including servicing and supporting the stakeholders, marketing and events, and capital improvements.
Meet with members Educate them on the mission and accomplishments of the Downtown Denville and to also elicit feedback from them on their perspective on the district and how we can support them.
Downtown Denville BID database Maintain the contacts for all Members (Landlords and Business Owners) and events attendees.
Funding Opportunities Identify/apply for grants, loans, and other government programs that could be available to our members.
Marketing Ensure DD BID social media and websites are current and relevant.
Communications and Outreach:
Promotion Promoting Downtown Denville as a shopping and dining location using multiple local and social media platforms.
Communicate Informing Downtown Denville members using email and/or other electronic communication.
Facetime Through regular communication and face to face visits, ensure that DD business owners and building owners along with stakeholders are aware of the DD BID offerings and listen to their needs.
Educate Our Stakeholders of loans, programs, grants and resources that are available.
Relationship Building Create liaisons and identify co-op opportunities to save funds while fostering relationships between businesses.
Represent DD to the public Establish and maintain strong partnerships among BID stakeholders including residents, businesses, institutions, funders, elected officials, community groups, and other resources available to them.
Stay informed of the Events Committee planning and execution of DD Events and help with sourcing volunteers.
Represent Downtown Denville Being a liaison to Downtown New Jersey, Main Street USA and Denville Township.
Meeting regularly with the Town Administrator and a Town Council Liaison or representative.
Network Communicate with other Main Street and BID's in NJ as well as to compare notes on challenges and changing trends.
Financial Management:
Direct the maintenance of financial and legal records.
Ensure the accountant is preparing the year-end Audit in a timely fashion.
Ensure receipt of the quarterly payments of the tax assessment to BID from Denville Township.
Assist Financial Committee with preparation of the Annual Budget for Board approval.
Support to the Board of Directors:
Provide support to the DD Board of Directors and subcommittees while promoting broad participation from property owners, business owners collectively, Members and other stakeholders.
Schedule and coordinate all the needs to conduct the monthly Board Meetings Provide a monthly report to the Board regarding your achievements, ongoing challenges, lessons learned, and any other new information that may be affecting the district.
Input on the goals of the DD Denville Make recommendations of initiatives and plans for the future based on what he/she has learned, their experience, and feedback as to what other Downtowns are doing.
Fundraising and Sponsorship:
Solicit donations and sponsorships and identify other sources of funding including County, State or Federal Grants to enhance SBA operations and to bring additional resources to the district.
Continuing Education:
The Board Encourages continuing education and attendance at certain conferences with the Boards prior approval.
