Summary:
Under minimal supervision, works on all activities regarding the design, detailing, construction, and modifications of stamping dies utilizing AutoCAD and/or Solidworks by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Review order requirements and customer specifications.
Work from customer part prints and specifications to conceptualize, design and detail stamping tools.
Manage die reviews and discussions for each assigned project.
Provide technical support throughout the manufacturing and development of the die.
Strive to exceed customer expectations and discuss any specifications that affect the die design.
Technical resource for various design projects and contribute ideas pertaining to the development of dies.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Comply with all federal and state safety regulations in addition to Metalis USA safety and security procedures.
Adhere to all federal & state laws, regulations and company policies relating to employment.
Other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time, and occasional travel between departments and divisions.
The atmosphere is a climatic office setting,
Qualifications:
Must have 5 years experience in progressive die design.
Must have experience in leading edge design concepts and able to provide unique/creative solutions.
Must have the ability to provide leadership as well as coach and mentor associates to increase their skills and abilities.
Must be able to think methodically and technically to ensure project success and to be technically aggressive when approaching and determining solutions.
Must have a working knowledge of office software programs such as Microsoft Windows applications.
Must have a working knowledge of CAD systems and a working knowledge of manufacturing practices.
Must be able to communicate and understand written, verbal, video communication.
Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, and safety shoes.
Must be able to organize and prioritize tasks and have the ability and interpersonal skills to work as a team member.
Must be able to understand and apply work-related documents, ex:
operating, maintenance and procedure manuals.
Able to travel domestically and internationally.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL
Qualifications:
Previous experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks required.
Experience using Logopress and Simulation software a plus.
Successful completion of a tooling or design related apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience required.
2-4 Years of advanced education or equivalent experience with emphasis in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
